Ushuaia** 3d / 2n
Ushuaia is the most southern city of the world, located next to Beagle canal and the Martial glacier. The town has many houses which are made of wood and painted golf plate. Besides the possibility of boat rides on the Beagle canal, one can enjoy national park ‘Tierra del Fuego’, a train ride, or a trip to Rio Grande. The city is a perfect base for winter sport, fishing trips and cruises to Antarctica.
The old prison has gotten a new purpose as the museum of Ushuaia and was created in 1994. It started as a Maritime Museum only, with a very complete exhibition of ship models. Later on, new collections were added, so you will also see the old prisoners’ cells displaying objects, maps, photographs, etc. related to the history of the prison, as well as a collection on Antarctic expeditions. One special section of the museum is the historical wing, kept exactly as it used to be in 1947 when it was closed. It was classified as a National Historical Monument.
